A few weeks ago, Oracle OpenWorld, the company’s annual convention, was held in San Francisco, United States, where the update of its portfolio of business solutions in the cloud was announced.
CEO Mark Hurd offered new predictions for 2025 that include 100% of cloud applications will include artificial intelligence, 85% of customer interactions will be automated, and 60% of all IT jobs have yet to be invented but will already exist by that timeframe. Hurd explains that automation will not replace people’s jobs, but will create them. Some of the new careers will include robot supervisors, smart city technology designers, AI-assisted health care technicians, and data professionals.
But as for the more immediate bets, specifically for next year, the company focused on emerging technologies and these were its main announcements:
- Oracle Autonomous Database: This cloud service focused on data management will involve new updates and at a much lower cost will handle machine learning to enable unprecedented availability, high performance and security that will prevent cyber attacks and data theft.
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure: This next generation of cloud security will involve the creation of integrated layers of defense that are designed to protect users, applications, data, and infrastructure.
- Blockchain Applications: Cloud applications such as Oracle Blockchain Applications Cloud and Oracle Blockchain Cloud Service will make it easy for customers to create a trusted network and increase transaction agility across their business networks.
- Enterprise Resource Planning: AI updates will be delivered to Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning Cloud (ERP) and Enterprise Performance Management Cloud (EPM), resulting in intelligent process automation.
