Following its successful run in Asia and Europe, the innovative Saturdays.AI program is coming to Chile, which will provide free training for Artificial Intelligence specialists. The program includes 15 five-hour sessions on Saturday mornings between July and December, in which participants will enhance their skills to develop AI-based applications.

The idea is for students to learn through practical exercises and by building prototypes in a collaborative way. In addition, the initiative will include talks, AI theory, projects, additional workshops and will end with a DemoDay to showcase the developed project. Sponsors and other companies interested in identifying business opportunities, learning about developments of interest to their sector or needing to recruit talent will be invited to this day.

In Chile, this initiative has a strong social and inclusion focus, as it considers an equal number of places by gender. The interest of its managers is to promote the application and development of AI to solve social problems and empower Chile in a key sector. Likewise, in previous versions, Saturdays.AI has promoted the development of health applications in the field of cancer and psychiatry. It has also favored some participants, who have been recruited by large technology companies, such as Google. In addition, in our country the program will incorporate training sessions on Pitch, DesignThinking and agile methodology.

The program’s coordinating team is made up of 7 professionals from different areas who work voluntarily, as well as the speakers and mentors. The locations and materials have been obtained thanks to the contributions of companies and universities.

It is worth noting that Saturdays.AI is a non-profit organization that has already benefited 5,000 students, enabled the development of 150 AI projects and executed 1,000 machine learning exercises.

Pre-registration for those interested is now open and will take place until July 14, through the website www.saturdaysai.cl
